SOLO show│PHOTOGRAPHY IS POETRY: Select Works from 2015, Stage West, Fort Worth, TX, U.S.--CANCELLED (post III)

SOLO show│PHOTOGRAPHY IS POETRY: Select Works from 2015, Stage West, Fort Worth, TX, U.S.--CANCELLED (post II)

Attention, PLEASE!
Today, I took more radical steps in response to how I was treated yesterday at Stage West, the venue hosting my solo show.
Phew!

Anyone who shows disrespect or disregard towards me as an artist or human being will NEVER EVER benefit from the sales of my works. They come from my heart and carry the purest feelings.
Now, they are back home with me, safe from greedy insensitive world.

SOLO show│PHOTOGRAPHY IS POETRY: Select Works from 2015, West Gallery at Stage West, Fort Worth, TX, U.S.--CANCELLED

I regret to inform you that the Opening Night of my solo show titled "Photography Is Poetry" as well as the Giveaway Evening planned to complement it were unexpectedly canceled upon arriving to Stage West
today before 7 PM, and realizing that the host venue didn't provide adequate space according to previous arrangements for setup.
I sincerely apologize all possible participants for the inconvenience.
I was so deeply affected by this incident that I left just a few minutes later after arrival without even attending the performance of a new play "The Royal Society of Antarctica" that I really wanted to see.

SOLO show│PHOTOGRAPHY IS POETRY: Select Works from 2015, Stage West, Fort Worth, TX, U.S.--CANCELLED

Well, there won't be any new picture from the Opening Night of my solo show at Stage West to add to my project titled │à la Vivian Maier│documenting important events and places in my life. There won't be one single picture of me with my works on display from today's Opening Night either.
It's not that I don't want to share them. The reason is that there WAS NOT ANY OPENING NIGHT today, Saturday, August 26th of my exhibition!!! I had to cancel everything at the very last moment just before 7 PM when I arrived at the theatre, and realized that the host didn't provide adequate space according to previous arrangements for setup.

The whole Lobby Cafe was filled with tables and people dining before the performance that started at 8 PM. I was told that the cafe was overbooked. No one cared about me or informing me about the situation. I couldn't access the wall to take one single picture of my works on display over the heads of people eating their dinner.
I don't think I've ever felt so much disrespected as an artist like at that moment when I was discussing the whole issue with the Gallery Manager.
I left just a few minutes after my arrival. Here, at the parking lot in front of the theatre I could take a picture. Street. This is where I ended up tonight.

film festivals│Dallas' second annual cat video festival, Texas Theatre, August 24th, 2017 (post II)

hic et nunc│ August 24th, 2017 Dallas, TX

All dressed up for the Cat Festival.

film festivals│Dallas' second annual cat video festival, Texas Theatre, August 24th, 2017

My favourite documentary from today's Dallas VideoFest CatFest selection was "The Pair-James&Bob", film by Beomchul Kim and Kyeongseok Jo:"A tale of one man and his cat. James has written a book about his life and Bob, 'A Street Cat Named Bob'. He still does busking with Bob every afternoon at Covent Garden, unless the weather is awful."

---

"[The first year] The community was that of the Dallas VideoFest CatFest, a one-night short film festival of the area’s best cat videos. Going on its second year, Dallas' CatFest is a gathering place for cat people and a fundraiser for the local no-kill animal shelter, Operation Kindness.

VideoFest is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, but CatFest is only in its second year. VideoFest originally partnered with the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, which kicked off its first Internet Cat Video Festival in 2012. The contemporary art museum’s event, where locals were invited to watch cat videos outside the museum, attracted 10,000 people its first year, many in cat ears, whiskers and T-shirts. Several brought along their own cats, according to Minnesota’s Star Tribune. Since then, the annual festival succeeded at its goal of bringing an internet meme into reality."
