art shows│TURTLE CREEK FINE ARTS FESTIVAL November 11-12, 2017 Dallas, TX (post III)

art shows│ART MART, November 17-19, 2017, Bath House Cultural Center, Dallas, TX

Join me for the Art Mart this weekend at the Bath House Cultural Center!
The Art Mart features an eclectic selection of original paintings, photographs, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, cards, and other unique creations by more than 60 local and regional visual artists.
Enjoy the art, along with food, live music, and a live art auction. The proceeds of the Art Mart benefit the participating artists and the Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center, a not-for-profit organization that supports year-round visual and performing art programs at the center.
During this year, Art Mart is featuring a special Live Auction in honor of the vandalized landmark pecan tree that was vandalized earlier this year. In its desire to commemorate the tree, The Friends of the Bath House has invited local artists to reanimate logs that were salvaged into individual art pieces. Their finished works will be on display throughout Art Mart, culminating in the Live Auction on Sunday, November 19, at 4:30 PM.The public is invited to attend Art Mart and participate in Sunday's auction.
The second feature this year is the most recent productions of the Muralism Program which will be on exhibition in the Underground.
Created in 2016, the program's goal is to foster the growth of local visual artists interested in learning traditional and modern techniques of the art of mural-size painting. In addition to the benefits gained by the participating students, the Muralism Program, under the instruction of artist Genaro Hernandez, also provides opportunities for community involvement, educational development, and enhancement and beautification of the center.

I met them all│encounter with a painter Jenny Gillespie, TURTLE CREEK FINE ARTS FESTIVAL November 11, 2017 Dallas, TX

Arts Festivals are a great opportunity to showcase my work and get an immediate feedback from my viewers. Sometimes, it happens that God brings me wonderful artists on my path, too.
Jenny Gillespie was located just three booths away from mine. It was only the second time in my life when I bought a painting after looking at it just for a few seconds. I love my Mister Kitty sooo much, and each piece by Jenny. It must have been love at first sight with her work. I had tears in my eyes while admiring her paintings. I almost felt like embracing her to my heart...

art shows│TURTLE CREEK FINE ARTS FESTIVAL November 11-12, 2017 Dallas, TX (post II)

It was my last big outdoor art festival this year, and I have to admit the hardest one so far. Yes, I will remember it as such due to very poor care offered to artists by the organizers. Regardless of all the inconveniences related to setup, lack of volunteers and basic amenities such as water, I have to consider it as a very successful one as well in terms of high level of participating artists, three incredible encounters I had and sales.

exhibition │1st Annual Juried Photography Exhibition, Irving Art Association, TX, OCT 29-DEC 1st, 2017 (Opening Reception, NOV 5th)

I didn't expect anyone to come see me today. It was an incredible honor, and also a wonderful surprise to meet Me, who traveled 2 hours to attend the Opening Reception, see my work in person and see me. She wanted to have a picture together. We chatted for a little while, and I learned that Me had followed my work on flickr for a long time. It was a huge compliment to hear that she found it inspirational. I wish we had more time to discover each other.

Me, you made my day. Thank you!
