Eagle Lake is nestled within a high-elevation granite cirque in the Mineral King region of Sequoia National Park. Surrounded by mountain crests, Eagle Lake is a typical glacially-formed lake called a tarn.

Distance: 3.6  miles (one way)
Elevation change: 2200 feet~670 meters
Hiking time: Approx. 3 hours one way

The robust hike to the lake climbs 2,200 feet over 3.6 miles and delivers a steady climb with expanding views.

To tell the truth, I didn't expect such long and difficult hike for the second day of my stay in the mountains. My body wasn't simply ready, so the results were quite painful at the evening after a whole day of hiking. I thought I wouldn't be able to go anywhere next day. However, the sore legs wasn't the worse thing that happened to me that day. After coming back to my cabin, I spotted a little scorpion in my bathtub while taking a shower. You know, all scorpions are venomous, they use their venom to paralyze and kill their pray and in self defense. Even small young scorpions can inject you with the same amount of venom as adults.

hiking&beach holidays in the Sierra Nevada and LA, California 2017│Venice Beach, Los Angeles, California, SEP 9th (post II)

hiking&beach holidays in the Sierra Nevada and LA, California 2017│Venice Beach, Los Angeles, California, SEP 9th

If you're silly or just snob, and choose places such this one (so called "global tourist destination") in Los Angeles, then you end up to have such pictures from the beach, unless you want thousand other tourists in the background...To be honest, I would rather wander at lonely beaches which matches better my personality, but two years ago while visiting LA our tourist guide gave us 20 minutes to "discover" this place, exactly the time I took just to walk to the beach, take one deep breath looking at the ocean, and return to the bus. This year I returned there, and experiences what Venice Beach is. There is nothing better than feeling things at your own pace.
......

Venice Beach, which receives millions of visitors a year, has been labeled as "a cultural hub known for its eccentricities" as well as a "global tourist destination." It includes the promenade that runs parallel to the beach (also the "Ocean Front Walk" or just "the boardwalk"), Muscle Beach, the handball courts, the paddle tennis courts, Skate Dancing plaza, the numerous beach volleyball courts, the bike trail and the businesses on Ocean Front Walk.
